Seen 'em? They take what is a dirt-cheap $40 printer body, add some big ink tanks and jack-up the price to $250 or so. Incredible audacity.

I refilled my HP inkjet tanks (which were separate from the jets) for years
until the arbitrary eol dates embedded in the chips kicked in.

Then I swore off two things.

1. Color printers, and,
2. Ink printers.

Now I just use a B&W laser printer which, when it needs refills, I buy off
the net, and open a hole in the top with the special solder hole tool, and
I refill it for two or three refills.

Almost never do we need color at home.
If we really need color, there are print shops everywhere.

I only use my razor for shaving, and change the blade when it gets dull.
