Correcting underwater digital pics
Hi
We're just back from a snorkeling trip in Belize. Can anyone point me to a tutorial on using PhotoShop to correct the color balance in these pics. Any pointers? Any and all help appreciated. Thanks Al |

Levels and curves will do quite a lot to help if the plugin does not. Try it both ways. Sometimes Paintshop Pro does a better job. Email me offline if you like. 54 days until Roatan. |

Any and all help appreciated. I'm no expert at this, be we just got back from the BVIs and I've been correcting the color from snorkeling shots using the 'levels' control -- independently adjusting red/green/blue. The results looks pretty reasonable to me (though I got the best results from just turning on the flash full time--which shots require no adjustmen). Mark |

Did you use a red filter when you took the shots?
If so its a lot easier to compensate. "AlJ" wrote in message oups.com... Hi We're just back from a snorkeling trip in Belize. Can anyone point me to a tutorial on using PhotoShop to correct the color balance in these pics. Any pointers? Any and all help appreciated. Thanks Al |

Thanks Al If you are going to do it that way, the correct filter is a UR Pro filter. http://www.urprofilters.com/ If you can set the white balance, you can do just as well as using the filter. The alternative is to correct with Photoshop. There is an excellent plug-in available for underwater correction. Levels and curves will also net the same result. |

Just using auto levels works surprisingly well.
