Default Fisheye on 300 D question

I have a Sigma 15mm 1:2.8 EX Fisheye lens that I want to use on my Eos 300D
for wide angle shots. (I know it will no longer be a fisheye when mounted
on the digital body)

Does anybody know how to calculate the FOV when it is mounted on the 300 D,
as it will warp the images and I will need to correct this after. I tried
googling in the hope of finding an online calc but had no luck.

Or does anyone already use this setup and know what the FOV is ?

Many thanks.....Adam Bootle

It will only not be a fisheye when mounted on a digital body with a
less than full frame sensor. The digital body has nothing to do with
it.

It will be a fisheye no matter what you mount it on. It just won't have
a 180 degree field of view with a smaller sensor.

If you correct the image to rectilinear projection, at a guess you'll have
roughly the field of view that you'd get with a lens of somewhere around
18-20mm (with quality loss -- I'd just use a rectilinear lens to begin
with).

Thanks for the reply John, you don't happen to have a link to a "teach
yourself maths" website as well do you ?

I think I am gonna have to try many fisheye corrections with the software
(PSP X) until I get one that looks right.

Thanks anyway......Adam

Here's how to calculate the FOV for it.
