Lockdown View
This is a pano of the view from the apartment in the Southern suburbs of Cape Town where I might have had to sit out a COVID-19 lockdown in South Africa.

We were thinking of staying but the thought that it could possibly be a year made us decide to just get home ASAP. I was pleased that we were able to get new tickets with no problems. |

Must try out the pano features of the X-T3. But it just has too many buttons and menu options for me! |

I just couldn’t resist the dawn light on the mountain, so I just snapped the 5 shots with the X-T3 & 16-55 f/2.8, ISO 160 @ f/4.0. -- Regards, Savageduck |

Are those 2 darkish 'rays' from the mountain-top into the sky around 60-70% across, articfacts from the stitching or tricks of the light in the source photos ? geoff |

I believe those issues you noted are due to shutter speed variations between frames. I shot aperture priority f/4.0 @ ISO 160. The SS for the 5 frames, left to right a 1/120, 1/105, 1/60, 1/125,& 1/210. -- Regards, Savageduck |

As Geoff observered, if you had to be stuck somewhere, it looks like there could be worse. I seem to recall that your dad is still with us. He is doing OK. He will be 97 in July, and his biggest issue is age related macular degeneration which frustrates him when he tries to read. His peripheral vision allows him to navigate, and watch TV, but as soon as he concentrates on a detail, or specific print or words it becomes a central vision void. In terms of mobility he seems frail to me, but manages mostly with a cane, and uses a walker-seat with a tray on the seat as an aid to carry coffee, and stuff around his apartment. -- Regards, Savageduck |
