I congratulate you on your skill. Yes they are nice captures, I wonder what the succsess/failure rate is. Perhaps he'll tell us. How fortunate you are to have such magnificent creatures as subjects. My gut tells me that you've spent much time waiting for 'just the right moment'! :-) All I seem to see are pigeons and gulls, a couple of weeks ago I had two pigeons on my bathroom window sill. I did see a strange looking white speckled finch like bird on a DLR platform, but before I could get my phone out the train came in and it flew off. I must visit Walthamstow wetlands one day, when it not cold and wet. We did once chat about the green parrots I'd seen when travelling up the River Thames on my narrowboat! https://londonist.com/london/great-o...u-need-to-know -- David B. |

The First I believe I had to warm up the WB a bit manually. |

I congratulate you on your skill. Thanks, lots of practice. But also lucky enough to live in a n area surrounded by two rivers which provide great habitat for eagles and osprey. These were taken in Yorktown, VA which is where the mouth of the York River flows in the Chesapeake Bay. The other side of the peninsula has the James River. You can see a map of the nests around the bay and rivers obtained from aerial surveys at the CCB portal, https://ccbbirds.org/maps/#eagles A recent article has questioned whether this area has reached peak eagle density as the population has rebounded remarkably in the past 10-15 yrs. https://wydaily.com/science-technolo...ed-peak-eagle/ The more yellow WB shot is on an oak overlooking the river across from nest YK1503, latitude 37.224238, longitude -76.494181 Which is near the Moore House where the Articles of Surrender where signed by George Washington. The other on the other side of town just past the bridge by the windmill next to the Watermen's Museum. Yes they are nice captures, I wonder what the succsess/failure rate is. How fortunate you are to have such magnificent creatures as subjects. My gut tells me that you've spent much time waiting for 'just the right moment'! :-) You can see my galleries of the Yorktown eagles and James River wildlife at College Creek by following the links off my home page at http://whfoto.net/ Current setup is Nikon D500 + 1st Gen 200-400mm f/4 VR + TC-14EII |
