Double click the .psd image to open it in Photoshop or PS Elements.
(.psd is the native Photoshop format.)
You probasbly saved the image with layers.
To get the image into .jpeg format, Click LAYERS Flatten Image.
Then click FILE Save As.
If the "Save As" Window look at the box entitled FORMAT.
If the image does not automatically show up as a .jpeg, click the Down
Arrow and scroll to .jpeg and click it.
The file will be saved in .jpeg format, which is compatible with Picassa.

Assuming you don't have Photoshop, try Irfanview:

So far as I can tell, it will convert between a lot of formats but won't
convert /to/ PSD. I'm using version 3.98, the current one, and can see no
way of doing so.

What /are/ the formats AA will accept? It should say in the manual and/or
help file.

You should not have any problems converting PSD files, Elements, Photoshop
or Irfanview can certainly open them and they can then be resaved as Jpeg or
whatever.

Are you sure they are PSD and not PDF ?
