since it attaches to the lens, it will work with more than just nikon.

Kinda expensive since you need a macro lense to begin with...

not necessarily, however, quality does cost money.

Hey! It's a simple, probably plastic neg holder with some opaque
difuser for light. Not even some LED lightsource!

Consider a slide duplicator and propper mount adapter if nessesary. The
OP has an EOS IIRC:

crawl out from your cave and you might see that there's this big giant
light source in the sky.

that's what i said.

The

it doesn't matter what he has. slide duplicators attach to the lens.
either the filter threads or clips on.

The sun is not a good light source for duping...

No you recommended a expensive Nikkor addon...

Nah. You can one a fixed specialised lens integrated... Like the ones
in the link below have. Way cheaper if you are on a budget like the OP
seem to be. The goto solution for quality scanning is a dedicated
filmscanner, with a few exceptions like Kodacolor Discs then a photo
flatbed is the most reasonable solution economically, if you want do do
it yourself.

actually, it's a very good source. alternately, use a flash.

$140 at b&h. hardly expensive. a steal at twice the price.

a film scanner is certainly ideal, except that it's quite a bit more
expensive than a duplicator.

flatbeds may be adequate for some people, but they're not as good as a
dedicated film scanner.

as for discs, they're going to be a problem no matter what.

We were talking film discs...

, but they're not as good as a
dedicated film scanner.

You're kidding! Nothing beats wet drum scans anyways...

as for discs, they're going to be a problem no matter what.

Well that was supposedly that that the OP wanted to scan...

no need.

also, the previous model nikon duplicator is $60 at b&h with free
expedited shipping. an even better deal.
