Default Minolta 7D and 1200AF Ring Light?

Hello all,
does anyone know if you can use a Minolta 1200AF Ring Light (Flash) on
the Maxxum 7D?

If not, what are the options there?

Thanks,

Joe

Hello Jer. I recently bought the minolta 1200AF and is doens't sync
with the camer. All photo are overexposed. I did some searching and
found a review site that said the 1200AF doesn't work with the 7D
unless you use a different controller (the MFC1000 controller)

Is that what you're using? If not, is there a setting in the camera for
the macro flash?

Just use it on manual, with digital that is no problem. Have a SunPak
ring on one camera, took about 10 minutes to set up. With another
camera I have a Nikon R1 again auto doesn't work well so I set the
flash on manual and just vary my fstops.

It will if you use the latest controller.
