Default photoshop 7 question - change colors

Can someone tell me how can you change the colors in an image
automatically - specifically I would like to turn everything black
(including shades of black) in an RGB image to a different color, for
instance brown? Is there a filter or some technique to do this? Thanks

Try on the menu.. imageadjustmentsselective color...then choose Black and
use the sliders to get what you want.

Here's an interesting plug-in for PS. Some nice filter effects you might
find useful
