Default Flash Supermatic & Anastigmat

Got an interesting 620 camera that has a 101mm Anastimat lens (3 digit
serial number) in a 'Flash Supermatic' shutter. Very clean. But has anyone
any experience with this lens/shutter?

Hi

What brand camera? Sounds like a Kodak Tourest. If that the case and the lens
says Anastar then that's one hell of a camera. I have seen mint Kodak Tourest
cameras with the 101 Anastar lenses go on Ebay for over $300.

I have several and are as sharp as any of todays modern professional cameras at
10 times the price.

I believe that Anastar lens is really a 101 Ektar.

It's the Kodak folding "MONITOR" (all caps, just like that). The lens says
"Kodak Anastigmat Special" (with "Special" in red letters) and it has a
three-digit serial number. Shutter speeds to 1/400th, but an unfortunate
aperture because it has only a few blades. The lens is amazingly clean.
I've removed the lens/shutter assembly to keep it and thrown the camera away
already. Mistake?

Hi

Althought the Monitor is a nice camera, I also have several, it is not the same
lens that is in the Kodak Tourest camera.

The Monitor with the red dot special lens goes for about $100 on Ebay. Center
resolution is good but edge resolution is so so.

Red dot? There is a red dot on the shutter that seems to indicate the
transition from slow to high speed range. If the edge rez is not so hot, I
think this one goes into The Big Box of Parts.
