Do all (twenty something?) photographers look alike?
Reminiscent of the time when everyone went around in black flares and a
black Polo (roll top) shirt. The Polanski look. Oh those heady days of the 60's. Duncan "Hugo Drax" wrote in message ... Ack, it's just that arty lot getting all pretentious. Did you see any berets? Me, I'm supposed to be a 20-something photography/art student but I think I'm not doing it right as I have rimless glasses, a suede jacket, a bad collection of t-shirts and a load of crappy old, worn out and faded blue jeans. I recently grew a beard though - but it wraps around my face to make me look more scruffy Chris. The Arty lot is an interesting one, they always have this superiority complex and spew out lots of psuedo-intellectual garbage. |

Yesterday when I went to a local store to get some chemicals A photo club must have been meeting or something and the majority of them were these younger guys dressed in the same style (urban artiste hip type style, with goatees and the same thick black glasses. It was weird but interesting. It seems a lot of work is being put to fit into some kind of artiste stereotype look. Anyone notice this in the field? Most of the shooters I meet overseas/US on assignment here do not look at all like that interesting looking crowd. Yep, that's me all right: http://www.growlery.com/ Best Regards, Bill Mattocks |

The difference is that Polanski was into groping the breasts of 13 year old
girls, and the look alikes weren't... uhhh, they weren't, were they? denny "Duncan Allan" wrote in Reminiscent of the time when everyone went around in black flares and a black Polo (roll top) shirt. The Polanski look. Oh those heady days of the 60's. |

Most photographers I know are very non-descript people. You'd never know they were photogs by just looking at them. -- Dallas There are only two types of music: Rock and Roll. Drop pants for email |

I agree, This is the first time I ran into such a cliched look and it was quite funny. |
