Why is it these things only seem to hit their more expensive models?

Canon identifies problem with EOS 7D
Canon identifies problem with EOS 7DCanon has said it is
investigating an issue with its recently released EOS 7D digital SLR.
In a service notice it says there is an occasional issue where traces
of a preceding frame may be visible in images captured in continuous
shooting mode. The company says it will release a firmware update to
resolve the problem.

.. and what consumer software do you know which is 100% bug free?

David

Well there was no bug fixes for DOS 1.0

Microsoft products have *never* had bugs, ever.

That is patently not correct. Several of their compilers have had bugs
and incorrect behaviour according to the ISO standards....

According to ISO standards almost all compilers have bugs or
"incorrect behavior".

Yes. I know we validate compilers.

Then your implication that Microsoft's compilers in particular have
problems wasn't entirely honest.

I was replying to the specific line
Microsoft products have *never* had bugs, ever.

No other companies software was mentioned. I was being entirely honest.

Everyone should go back and read the actual article that
Chris H responded to. He is not being honest at all.

More dishonesty Chris. That is *not* the article you
responded to, it's your dishonest response.

Which DOS? Do you mean MS-DOS (from QDOS, bought by Microsoft)?
In fact, it was so free of bugs the version 1.0 was never published
--- what was published by IBM as PC-DOS 1.00 was the bug fixed
version (reportedly more than 300(!) bugs fixed by *IBM*, not by
Microsoft!) of MS-DOS 1.14.

And in fact, PC-DOS 1.00 soon had a bug fix: PC DOS 1.05.

Next try?

Nope. CP/M. The DOS that gates stole, where drive C is the first hard-drive
in the chain. Drive C forever sticking out like a sore-thumb as a bright
red flag attesting to Gates' original theft.

He's got the general story but I think he picked up the details in a
pub. :-)

Well you do tend to pick up a lot in the bar at /after trade shows and
conferences.

Also the truth looks a little different depending where you are
standing... ask both sides in a divorcee :-)

And neither side will be right.

I have several books from the era and the details are quite different.

The problem can be (not saying it is in this case) that the first book
gets it wrong and all the rest use the first one for reference. :-(
Despite many of these things being recent and the large about of
data/blogs/web pages and books (and many of the players still being
alive) I fear were are no closer to an accurate picture of many of these
things iver the last 50 years than were are to the lives of the
Pharaohs. :-(
