Even more over there have had a thing or two to say. Opinions are like arseholes... Everyone has one. Those replying to Rich's post, are definately like their opinions. The clear indication to me is that those who see a magenta cast are looking at life through rose coloured glasses. Those who see the photos as being under exposed, are wearing cheap sunglasses. Those who see the issue for what it is - one extremely easiely corrected with a couple of clicks in a photo editing program have got perscription glasses! Now if you can all just agree that you all have an arsehole, you should be able to agree on the individule opinion thing too! Doug |

Doug One, one of the idiots on that forum posted 8 shots to prove there was no magenta cast. FIVE of them showed it, unless you think roadways are naturally pink coloured. Two, if you think you can ELIMINATE a colour shade from an image and not have it impact things other than the miscolouration, you are mistaken. |

How any particular image is displayed depends on the colour calibration (if any) of the monitor, and how the software used for display handles or ignores any embedded colour profile in the image. Given these differences, it does not surprise me that some people could see variations in the eight images, and yet others could not. David |

You don't have to actually ADD green to reduce magenta. In fact, you can alter the "tint" of an image with a slight magenta cast and remove it altogether. If you can see any difference between an image with some magenta removed and one taken with correct white balance you are a super human being. FYI Magenta is the easiest colour to fool the human eye with. Way back when... Kiss mini-labs reigned supreme and their monster poster printers were being sold to every idiot fooled by the sales pitch, Magenta was the default colour! |
