Pixel-shift to increase resolution (as with many Olympus innovations) will become main-stream very shortly
In article ,
RichA says... Sony is possibly going to do it. The novelty of taking a 40mp camera and boosting it this way to 120mp is not lost on those wanting to do high-resolution static shots without the tedious stupidity of having to "stich-it" in some post-processing program. Sure, but panorama stitching is not only about increasing resolution, but also to get a wider angle of view than the current lens has and interesting perspectives/projections. -- Alfred Molon Olympus E-series DSLRs and micro 4/3 forum at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/MyOlympus/ http://myolympus.org/ photo sharing site |
