I set up a very rudimentary example of some RMNP photos at:

http://www.andywlms.com/photo/rmnp/

These are straight out of the camera and compressed for the web, so
don't expect any great art. I'm sure there must be better pics
available somewhere on the web.

The photos were taken during the first week of October, 2003, so your
view of the park will be very different. RMNP is so photogenic that
it is hard to recommend any specific areas.

I think your most significant problem in July will be avoiding people,
if you are looking to capture "pristine wilderness" pictures. It was
somewhat challenging to avoid people even in the pictures I took in
October.

Amen. I was there in June, 2001 and crowds were a significant issue. You
can enter the park at its southwest corner on US34 and travel along the
western edge of the park. Look for wildlife in the meadows on the western
side of the road. Even in June, this was a less populated part of the park,
and getting out early made a huge difference. The eastern part, around
Estes Park, was definately more crowded.

But, like the man said, the park is hugely photogenic. If you can maneuver
the public out of your images, you should have a great time.

Photographer Q.T. Luong has a wonderful web site that has many
landscape photographs from all 57 National Parks of the U.S.

Here's the link to his photographs of Rocky Mountain National Park:
