Potential for a supper bloom this year, for those who like that sort
of thing.

The other good wildflower location this Spring should be Carrizo Plain.

Yes! Very nice video. "Supper bloom?" The yellow flower is edible
(looks like Heliopsis helianthoides, though I'm not familiar with Death
Valley flora/fauna), but I don't know about the rest. Best to consult
an authoritative guide before supping on wildflowers.

Inside the park everything has a virtual "Do Not Disturb" sign, so
snacking would be discouraged.

I'm told that /most/ of Antarctica is devoid of wildflowers, also the
summits of the world's tallest peaks. There are wildflowers everywhere
else, from frozen tundra in Siberia to the middle of the Sahara--I have
visited the latter area.

I would think that a few more weeks are needed out there, probably mid
to late March, maybe even early April.
I am also thinking of mid to late May for Yosemite as the waterfall
should be doing well, and the meadows should be out from under the snow.

I didn't know they were edible. Are they tasty, too? What goes with them
for dessert.

They are cousins of the daisy and the sunflower, both of which are
edible. Roses and dandelions, as well. As to taste, to each his own.
