Default Cheap and light lens for Minolta Maxxum 5

Hi,

I am looking to buy a cheap and light travel lens for my Maxxum 5.
Cheap because I don't use the maxxum all that much so don't want to
spend mega-$$$ on a lens for it and light because I will use it for
travelling/hiking/trekking.

I am looking at two lens:
- Minolta 35-70mm f4
- Minolta 28-85mm f3.5/4.5

Both can be had for very cheap on eBay (less than $50). Any
suggestions/comments?

- Siddhartha
