I was wondering what you guys were looking at. All I saw was the inside of a
camera store.

I agree with Dave that the boom looks a bit unwieldy. But while I was fixing
redeye this morning on eight of the shots I took at the City Manager's
retirement party, I could see the advantage of having the flash farther from
the camera. ;^)

On the whole, though, I made out all right with direct flash on the two recent
events. For one I had some light from the windows; for the other I had the
lights they use for televised ebents (although that event wasn't televised).
