Has anybody got some insight as to when Nikon is going to ship the next
batch of D200 bodies?

Could it be that the D250 or the D300 will be next, and there won't be
any more D200 bodies?

That could be marketing at its finest.

Well...no.
The D200 has only been for sale for about a month...

That means there's *at least* another month before it's obsolete...

Nah... Not with Nikon...
Their product roll-out is slow as mollasses.
-But since you did say, "at least," I guess you'd be technically correct.

Actually, what I want to know is when am I going to be able to get my
hands on a new 10.2MP Pentax *ist-D2?

Perhaps you're just caught up in the Canon marketing machine?
;-)

Nah. I've got my gripes about Canon, too.
As for being caught up...I don't think so, since I'm still shooting with my
10D...having passed up all of their new bodies since then...and not due to
money issues. Canon has managed to get a lot of lens money during that
wait...but my lenses will be around long after my 10D retires.

I am keeping my eyes open for info on the 20D replacement, but it will have
to be pretty slick to make me jump.

And us film dinosaurs keep the camera bodies around and
retire the lenses.

I hope your 10D's retirement will be voluntary.
