F100 serial question
Hi,
Why do people only show the first part of the serial of their camera in messages? Like 213XXXXXXX. It's not like the numbers are secret?! Second, how do the serials of Nikon F100 relate to the year they were manufactured? Or is that impossible to find out? grz |

F100 serial question
Its normally only done with early bodies which the first 2 digits denoted
the year the plate was engraved. You note I say the year the plate was engraved.........this does not necessarily reflect the year the body was placed into the market for sale and/or the possibility that the top plate has been changed sometime in its life. I don't think you can ref the later numbers with year of manufacture other than sending the serial number to Nikon for the info. eric "Carl" wrote in message ... If I show my serial somewhere and someone is going to use it, It's somebody else doing the fraude, not me. |

But consider that if you bring in your lens for replair and the repair shop sees it on a 'stolen list', it might be some time before things are sorted out and you get your lens back. -- --e-meil: there's no such thing as a FreeLunch.-- |
