Have a look for a used Nikon Coolscan, I recently bought one for GBP150
(Coolscan 4 LS40 ED).
Does a decent job, much better than scanning prints and the ICE does a fine
job of cleaning up my dusty slides.
TEST it out first, there is no way just by looking at it, to tell if
anything is wrong with the optics.
