what nikon body for use with pb-6 bellows attachment?

hi all.

i've just bought a nikon bellows model pb-6. i knew my f5 wouldn't
have fitted on it without 2 pb-6d spacers, but i was also hoping to be
able to find a couple of them; unfortunately, it seems almost
impossible to find a shops selling them/having them on stock and nikon
europe hardly distributes them --btw, if you have a shop near your
home that sells it, i'd be glad if anybody would buy them for me and
then shipped them to italy. i can paypal you or use ebay --.

i'm, then, now in the need of a smaller body to use mainly on the pb-6
*without* the pb-6d. i plan to take pictures with a 35/2 in normal or
reversed position and, sooner or later, i may be able to switch to a
24/2.8. the question now is: what --possibly used-- body would you
suggest me for this use? i'd like it to be able to meter with manual
settings. i mean i want the camera to tell me if aperture and shutter
settings i manually choose are ok with the subject i'm shooting at
--like f5 does in manual mode also with my tamron mirror lens--.
since i'm looking for something to be used mainly/only with the
bellows, i guess that perhaps an fm2n or an fm3a would make the job,
but i've never seen one of them and i don't know how they works.
