No, it will never happen, that kind of logic will never work. I think the expression you use over there is something like, "you're being taken for a sucker". It's a matter of practicality; and it's hopeless. Douglas has demonstrated he can't resist posting tripe, jibes and worse, nor can a few others either in response or just to get back. Jumping on Douglas only makes it worse. Keep talking about the whole thing makes it worse, and I swore a few days ago I was done. I hope I am now. -- john mcwilliams |

"Bully.Basher" vehemently accused in
: "Willarojo" wrote in message 6.120... snip-and-a-1 It's the only proven-to-work method of dealing with bullies. snip-and-a-2 Out of the mouths of slackwits: precisely the reason people keep calling you out. You're right, I haven't been in this group for 4 years, so maybe Mark and countless others have behaved poorly in the past, and maybe if you posted actual proof (not just accusations) I'd believe you; but I *have* had my eyes open as long as I've been here, and I have seen, repeatedly, how lame your behavior is. Even if everyone else is being a ******, that doesn't prove that you aren't as well, and it doesn't excuse your behavior. Can I stop you from behaving like an ass? No, of course not. But everytime you deny acting like an ass, I'll happily pipe up "Doug, you're being an ass again". Deny it all you want, we've all seen it. DYBAAA. Has a nice ring to it. What "crowing"? I posted a link to some of my pics, some people responded, I engaged in some pleasant conversations with those people regarding my *and their* pics, and a good time was had by all. I haven't bragged once, unless "crowing" means something else in your idiom. And now I'm a "kook"? Why, because I only bash people who display poor behavior? Doug, for the time I've been in here, you have consistently been the most poorly behaved person here (people, if we count your socks). Have others said foolish things? Sure. Have others said mean, or even downright offensive things? Yup. But you have been, by a country mile, the biggest boor here. Sling all the mud you want, I know what I know. I don't need to killfile you, even if I *could* KF the multitude that is Douggie (wasn't it a demon who said "we are legion"?), your posts (sorry, "replies") serve as an effective reminder that many people on this planet are ****ing crazy. Now, if I could figure out how to "crazyfile" you... "Hi-jacking threads seems to be something plenty of people do to me but something I should shiver in my boots about when it's your thread." So, it's *not* okay when people do it to *you*, but it's a-okay when *you* do it to *others*? In fact, you're admitting you hijacked my thread. Funny Doug, I'm just asking you to interact with me by the same rules you demand of others... yet you aren't able to. Don't worry though, Douggie, I won't stop posting and run off to pout because you hijacked my thread. I'll keep posting as if you don't exist, and people will or won't respond as they see fit, and will or won't look at my pics as they see fit, and will or won't enjoy my pics, and I won't ask any more of them but polite behavior. So far, you're the only person that's been rude to me. Fancy that! In point of fact Douggie, some of your critiques were wrong: "40% blocked up shadows" I believe was one phrase... ever heard of a silhouette? Or a low key photo? Ditto with "40% blown highlights", which is a high key photo. The artistic decision to blow the shadows to make a silhouette is at least as valid as the artistic decision to blow the highlights in a bride's dress. Doh! Did I say that out loud? And BTW Douggie, maybe everybody else here is hesitant to call you out on your offensively bad wedding schlock, er, "photos", but I've shot 2 weddings as an amateur, and though I don't claim mine are professional quality, I can safely state my opinion that neither are yours. You have posted some nice shots, don't get me wrong, but you've posted so many dogs, you probably need a kennel license. So, when Mark replied to my post, and offered a link to posts of his own, he bullied me by stealing my thread?!?!?! Dude, Douggie, your signature has a link to a lame "we're all bullied" site, which means by the same logic, every time you post you take over a thread, even your own OP! It's called "conversation": one person speaks, another responds, the first or maybe a third says something else, etc. There was no name- calling until you jumped in, and the critiques and comments were useful and interesting until you spoke up. Even if all us ******s broke all of the top 10 rules of photos (please list them), at least we didn't follow your lead and break the #1 rule for wedding photographers: never make the bride look ugly. #2 of course, is never make the bride's or groom's mother look ugly. You rebel you, breaking the top rules with such abandon! C'mon Douggie, put up or shut up: post more pics. If you're the master, shows us plebes how it's done. I haven't seen many of yours yet that I could learn a positive lesson from. Plenty of "don'ts", though, certainly. Somewhat off-topic.. although it refers to high key and low key
imaging, along with the difference between blocked shadows and silhouettes - something Douiglas doesn't understand. On Jun 22, 9:28 am, wrote: And then to go to the opposite spectrum...The index image of your Portfolio for Christ sake: http://www.marktphoto.com/portfolio/...ary_fisher.jpg has 40% blocked shadows! Just curious - what sort of expert would say that a silhouetted, low- key image has 'blocked shadows'? Guess it would be the same one that said a high-key image had blown highlights (referring to specular highlights anyway). A reminder - this is the same 'expert' that posted these: http://www.flickr.com/photos/austral...her/396106853/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/austral...her/396107012/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/austral...her/396107830/ Fine examples of his exposure control skills - on images that are neither silhouettes or high key. Keep diggin', Dougie. |

'Course you will, tiger. And turn his world a pretty shade of pink into the bargain since it's been well over 12 hours since he failed to apologise for being a big meanie to you. Block me in your killfile. You won't need to be bothered by my ... .... "petulant and inane foot stamping", I believe that should have read. And that will only work until you decide on a new name for yourself, or make up another imaginary friend. Maybe your imaginary Samoan cook can start posting in your defence? Of course you could always let it ride and get in for a bit of head kicking yourself. You seem to have the routine pretty well worked out. Yes. Somebody posts the rather self-evident fact that you're a lying idiot. Your head spins at 3,000 RPM, blood shoots out of your ears, and you put finger to keyboard in a barely literate, much less coherent, stream of invective. Sorry, ATTEMPTED invective. You see that as a "head kicking". Everyone else sees it as someone who never made a successful assault on Mt. Puberty via which MOST people learn basic social skills. Read my lips, Willa...................... Allow me... "WIBBWEWIBBWEWIBBWEWIBBWE-DROOL-WIBBWE!" If I knew who he was M.a.r.k. T.h.o.m.a.s, Douggie. or what his gripe is, Maybe he just doesn't LIKE dysfunctional, lying lunatics who change their identities more often than they change their underwear, and who take mediocre photographs yet think that they're God's gift to the camera. Y'know, some people are just funny that way, Douggie. I'd handle it personally "I am Douggie, hear me meow..." but he knows as long as he stays a coward and hides his identity, no one will come forward to collect the $500AUD cash reward Uh, Douggie? If he hadn't "hidden his identity" as you claim, and you therefore knew his name and address and so on, why would anyone NEED to claim the "reward"? I've been offering for 2 years, for his real identity. Either his friends are all so incredably wealthy I need to up the offer Yes, because that's what true friends do in the real world Douggie; turn over details of their friends to habitual liars and head-cases on the Internet for 500 miserable bucks. Of course, that's probably just an issue of perspective, since that's the only type of "friend" that you yourself can attract aside from the imaginary ones. or he hasn't got any because he doesn't exist. Now THERE'S a disturbing thought Douggie! Could it be that in addition to making up your friends, supporters and legal team... your fevered brain is making up your "bullies" as well?! |
