Default Cable release via hot shoe?

My Olympus 770UZ does not accept a convential cable release (it does have a
remote).

I called Olympus service re the above and they acknowledged that they don't
supply a cable release for this model.

However, the customer service representative explained that there is an
after market cable release available that works via the hot shoe.

I called several local retailers and they have never even heard of such a
thing.

My question: does anyone out there know of a cable release that will work
via the hot shoe?

Thanks,

Bill
