How does the 40mm compare to the 38 biogon, optically and practically?

On the SWC camera you have to become accustomed to seeing part of the lens blocking the scene, and pay attention to the bubble level (if you care to) while with the 40mm, you can usually align verticals by sight on the groundglass. You can put a groundglass and finder on the back of the SWC in place of the film back, but it's a bit of a pain if your work requires that you do it all the time. And of course, the SWC is very compact. The 40mm lens and body is pretty big. |
