Default Clone stamp - PS7

This has been driving me buggy and I am almost sure that it is easily
managed - if only I knew how to do it.
When I use the clone stamp there is a little + off to one side. When the
stamp is used this %$&@# + takes the area it is over and stamps that on my
work.
How do I get rid of this thing?
Regards.
Ken.

The solution is to use a very small "brush" when using clone, or heal, for
that matter. Enlarge the image to pixel, or near pixel, level, and the
offset won't hit what you don't want it to.

Yabbut - what is that offset doing there in the first place. It seems like
it serves no useful function. I just want it gone!

I am sure there is an answer hidden somewhere in your reply. I don't do
puzzles easily. Please expand.
