Cloudy every day, temps from freezing to just above, meaning no
accumulation of snow, just dead plants and dirty streets, everything
drab, shades of brown and grey. Give me sub-freezing cold, sunny.

Got any freezing drizzle street photography?

Not where I am right now. Temp is about 80°F and sunny.

I get back to SFO on Jan 17.

WTF happened to this photo? There is nothing in the EXIF data that
looks off, but this looks like it was taken with an extremely low-res
camera. Were your JPG settings off? I only ask because I've never
before seen one photo from you that looks anywhere near this bad. It
makes my eyes hurt.

I like the other two...

Consider that all my post processing is being done on an iPhone, as is all
of this Usenet stuff.

Yep, but like I said, that was the only photo from your trip that came
out like that. Something just went wrong with this one.

Who knows?

It was after all a tourist snapshot.

I was using the 14mm f/2.8 for that shot and for whatever reason at f/8 I
got some lens shade vignetting and I made my crop inside that.

I took another look at it in LR on my iPhone, changed the crop and made a
few other tweaks, but it is still a case of not being able to make a silk
purse out of a sow's ear. It remains a snapshot even after the revisit.
However, I am sure it gives a good enough representation of the current
weather I am experiencing in Cape Town v the North East.

BTW: I took more than that shot at that location. so here is a shot of the
same location with a different lens (18-55mm), from a different position,
with a different processing treatment in LR & PS Fix on my iPhone.
