Do camera makers benefit from having unique RAW file structures?

Consider that a D750, a D810, a D500 are different cameras with different
sensors and CPU’s. The RAW file is optimized for each hardware
configuration and a generic RAW will be of little benefit. Even those cameras
which use DNG have unique aspects to those RAW files.
