Hmm.
Talk about ambiguity.

Nah, I'm a boring person. It's neither, just an objective comment. I

I had no issue with that.
What I do have an issue with is the blocking in the shadow areas. The
BW conversion was done using NIK.

While the B&W conversion might have been done using NIK (I assume Silver
Efex Pro2), what else did you do to create that Mess?
Specialized Peter sharpening perhaps?

Sharpening was 4.2. Your version has no black and is far too flat. My
issue is that as soon as I went for a bit more black, I had blocking. I
suspect that the DR is too much without using some form of tone mapping
to avoid this. Anyway, I am really tired as I have been up since 4:00
AM. I was recently diagnosed with COPD and went through a battery of
testing.

I would have gone about a B&W conversion with a somewhat lighter hand,
even with NIK Silver Efex Pro2.
This rendition was done in LR CC + NIK Silver Efex Pro2:

Sorry to hear that.
Is that a general COPD, or something specific?

What sort of prognosis for arresting progression with therapy?

Were you ever, or are you a smoker?

You can. The same way you get to Carnegie Hall. Practice, practice,
practice. ;-)

You're not the only one who misunderstood what I meant, so I'm going
to have to blame myself. I meant better at clever responses to things
like your "sky is purple" question. In fact, I wasn't even aware of an
LGBT reference. I'm falling behind in cultural awareness...

Seriously, the only one you need to please is yourself. We don't all
like the same thing. When, not if, I produce something that others don't
like, I try to sit back and see is it me, or the viewer
Two examples:
In this image I deliberately oversaturated the colors, and oversharpened
for the effect.

A more realistic view of the wild turkey:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ao4wqtcalfsrlma/Thanksgiving%20escapee.jpg?dl=0

If you decide to enter competitions, have a thick skin. Here is one that
i really like. It did very well at my local CC and in our parent
organization, but it did not get a ribbon at NECCC, several years ago.
when I picked up the print, one of the judges volunteered that they
really liked the image, but if I had shown the eyes, it would have won
some placement. To me the image was the chimps appearing to be studying.
Had I lightened the eyes of the right hand chimp, it would not be the
same image. i simply thanked the judge.

Just something I will learn to live with.

We don't know yet.

What sort of prognosis for arresting progression with therapy?

From my understanding, it cannot be reversed, just symptomatic
treatment to slow the progression.

Were you ever, or are you a smoker?

I have not touched tobacco in over thirty five years. I suspect it is
from second hand smoke.

I would have gone about a B&W conversion with a somewhat lighter hand,
