Anyone tried 16 GB flash cards in a Nikon D3 ?

You might not discover the real value of an ultra fast card until you discover your buffer is full and you just missed that once in a lifetime shot. Even more reason to buy slower and cheaper cards. It's very rare that one hits this barrier, even when shooting 14-bit RAW, when properly shooting instead of machine gunning. In the unlikely event this does happen you are a perfect candidate for the D3 memory upgrade. Rita Not available in Australia (yet). I used to use our D3 for birds (Swallows are fun). What you call "machine gunning" is the normal method of shooting fast flying or darting birds. Not unusual to shoot 4 gig and not get a single usable image. The one you do get is worth big payola. I've hit the ceiling with 40x Lexar cards many times. Even 133 Kingston's will bog when pushed. I would definitely recommend 266x cards. |
