Default Cameras with cradles?

Hello People

I'm thinking of getting my first digital camera just for holiday/family
snaps & have been talking to several people about them, how they work,
mega-pixels, memory cards, etc. & everyone without exeption comments on how
they "eat batteries". My brother purchased a Fuji finepix 401 (?) some time
ago & the attraction of this particular camera to me is that it comes with a
cradle so that it's continually charging & is powered by the mains for
downloading (no need for a card reader). Are these cradles only available to
the Fuji range & if so are all fuji cameras compatable with a cradle?

Mark.

I would say it's better to forget a cradle model & get a card reader &
you will want extra batteries anyways. Someone was complaining here
about having trouble reading pics from a cradle, card readers are just
much less trouble free.

I've taken over 400 shots on a single set of nimh AA batteries in my
Canon A40 (and still had the spare set in my pocket). Buy a camera
that uses regular-format batteries (like AAs), and buy 2 or 3 sets of
good quality rechargables and a decent charger, and its a non-issue.

No. Kodak's whole line has 'docks', and Casio has some models with
similar accessories.
