Default Velvia 50 vs Velvia 100 (non-F) comparison

In article .com,

I use Paint Shop Pro v.8, until I can afford to cough up enough dough
for a copy of Photoshop. PSP has been fine for my web work, but now
that I'm going to start printing from scans, I think I could benefit
from Photoshop.

By the way, the more I look at the Velvia 100 image, the more I like
it. In fact, that's probably the one I'm going to get my lightjet
print from.

If you buy PS- shop around, prices vastly differ. When I bought
my first version "7" just before CS came out I got my copy for about
100.00 off what standard channels would have. 100 bucks is a hundred
bucks even though I eventually upgraded. You might want to check
out some sites like price watch .com I found a company that wasn't the
absolute cheapest, but they seemed ligit when I first called.

What irks me is the constant upgrading. I really love what Ed Hamrick
has going on - pay $80 once for Vuescan Professional, and you're set
for life. Not that I expect Adobe to do this, nor do I even think they
necessarily should, but it would be nice. Several hundred dollars
every year or two really isn't practical for most people unless you're
making a lot of money with it.

Of course, you could argue that most upgrades to Photoshop aren't
really necessary to most people, other than maxium file size
considerations for LF folks.

Anyway...

- Chris
