Getting rid of the low-end to make the higher-end cheaper

4 tiers of DSLRs: -Cheapo plastic consumer models. -Intermediate level metal-bodied units. -Semi-pro enthusiast models. -Pro bodies. Mankind has enough problems with people trying to categorise things - where variation between individual characteristics tend to be in a continuum, and the quality or nature of one characteristic in one thing may not mean that the quality or nature of another characteristic in that same thing is raised or lowered in a consistent manner. It results in a lot of complication, obfuscation, downright bull****, and at best constant revision and argument. Perfect attributes for marketing departments to cynically exploit. If you're looking for an answer, then IMO you'd be best to think about the question a bit harder before wasting any more time on the subject. |
