Personally I've used my Davis-Sanford model "C" for years,with my 4X5 Crown Graphic and smaller formats, and have never had a problem. It is light, compact, and has the ability to reverse the tube for those extreme low angle shots. Most of all though is that it is extremely stable in most situations in the field. Although if I need something more stable? I use my Ries A-100..lol
