Default Water Resistant Camera Bags

Hi has anyone had any experience with water resistant camera bags. I
have a 130 acre swamp on the farm in central NSW with lots of wildlife
and reeds. The water is waist deep so I dont really want to accidently
dunk the camera while wading through it. thanks

Yes, I have, and they work.

Go to a camping store and buy mini "dry bags" used in river rafting.
Make sure you get at least 3 or 4 "rolls" when you use them.

How much do you want to spend and how secure do you want to be?

A couple of gallon ziplocs, one inside the other, will keep the camera
dry as long as you don't get too rambunctious and tear the bags, and has
the advantage of being cheap. You can buy commercial dry-bags for not
too horribly much money that are more durable. A Pelican case goes up
another level in cost and durability and also adds weight. Or for
fairly big bucks you can get a camera case intended for scuba diving
that lets you operate the camera underwater. Or you could watch ebay in
the hope that a Kodak DCS-425 or 435 (aka Digital Nikonos) turns up, but
I suspect that that's truly immense bucks considering that only a
hundred or so were made and all of them were sold to the SEALs.

Here are a few solutions:
Aquapac has quite a few sugestions.

Perhaps consider a bag to pack in a backpack or carry:

Then along with Pelican you can also consider HPRC

All it takes is $$$. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies folks - Im hoping to take photos with the slr
camera inside the waterproof bag, so the plastic in front of the lens
would need to be of good quality to take a photo through it. Doesnt have
to be bomb proof, just to keep the camera dry if I trip over underwater
obstacles . PS Actually I do have a Nikonos5 but film is getting a bit
difficult these days and I cant fit a telephoto to it. thanks again

In that case take a closer look at this Aquapac offering:

....and then there is the Ewa-Marine system, not inexpensive, but very
good. B&H would probably be your best US source for these.

Snakes are no problem - the crocodiles cleaned them out!
