Do you understand what AM is?

Yeah it comes as the sun rises, then just before lunchtime PM arrives.
:-D

Hate to quibble, but AM starts directly after midnight.

So do Night buses, for me AM means mornings, and that starts after I wake
up.
The night bus I used to get started about 1am finished about 7am and the
first day bus was about 8am.

Context is everything.
You might have noticed that this insufferable, somewhat devolved sub-thread
was related to amplifiers, and radio, not the position of the Sun over
Greenwich. I have been waiting for one of those involved in the discussion to
educate you with regard to those radio options, FM = Frequency Modulation,
and AM = Amplitude Modulation

don't forget about ssb (single sideband) and the many variants of
digital

Quadrature phase modulation is really where it's at !

Darn, none of my radios can handle that format. :-(

My facetious remark was directed at the recent decision in favor of a

I assume you are referring to Cohen v. California, 403 U.S. 15 (1971),
which wasn't nearly as humorous, since it referred to the Viet Nam
conflict and freedom of speech.

I am pretty sue that was not the situation in the case I described.
The amplifier was new and had just been built in one of the better [2]---
university electronics laboratories.

It's irrelevant. A perfectly built amp turned high enough will
'receive' an AM signal as interference and you will hear it in the right
conditions.

It's nothing but interference.

And the human ear can hear the 550KHz output? [1] ---

Do you understand what AM is?

Most certainly.

Not according to [1][2] above.

I'm not sure that I follow your point.

Bingo!

You obviously think you have proved something. What is it?

You did all the proving. Don't sweat it.

OK. You want to play the superior. FYI I was building transmitters,
receivers and amps from more than 70 years ago. I do know what the
terms mean. 80, 450KHz, 1625, 807, 6L6 to you.

I built some weird and wonderful devices from scratch. No circuit
diagram or plans supplied. A lot of VHF stuff. Some UHF.
