Default How to eliminate duplicate pictures?

Originally, before Picasa, I stored my pictures in multiple folders by topic
and interest. This eventually lead to many duplicated pictures eating HD
(over 16,000 pictures now). I wrote Excel macro to look for these
duplicates, but it was still complicated process to delete them. I found
free software called VisiPics, which does this process absolutely amazingly.
This program actually compares pixels in the pictures. Depends on your level
of adjustment, it will find exact duplicates or very similar pictures and
displays them side by side with quick preview. This is so elegant and so
impressive, that I want to share this with you

thanks, it's a good idea but, unfortunately, it doesn't work with RAW files
(at least, not .pef's or .dng's)

dup raw's are easy to find with any program that finds dups based on size,
date, and checksum / crc
