Pixfer XP image transfer beta - feedback wanted
We have just posted a beta Windows XP version of our image transfer
software (Pixfer) that has much more functionality than the Pocket PC version. In addition to standard transfer/rename options, this beta: - does up to three simultaneous transfers so you can transfer multiple cards at once - transfers to two separate locations so images are backed up immediately - performs a hard drive check before each transfer (uses S.M.A.R.T. functionality embedded in the drive) - verifies images to make sure they transferred correctly - handles RAW formats effectively (e.g. subsecond information for NEF images) We're looking for feedback on this product before the 1.0 release. More information (including a screenshot), the beta download, and a license key for the beta can be found on our website at: http://www.glasslantern.com/products/PixferXP/index.htm Please send any comments, suggestions, bugs, etc to . thanks! -jeff -- Jeff Blum, CEO Glass Lantern, LLC http://www.glasslantern.com |

A new beta v0.93b is now available incorporating feedback from the early beta testers - thanks for the bug reports and feature requests! Highlights include job code functionality for sorting and renaming, bug fixes for EXIF reading (dates were read as zero for some files), and improved performance and user interface tweaks. As before, more information and the download are available at: http://www.glasslantern.com/products/PixferXP/index.htm From the change log: v0.93b: Many bug fixes, including fixing EXIF data reading from some files - date information was showing up as zeros in some file types. Added option to only transfer known file types. Added manual card eject button. Began speed optimization of renaming files - more still to be done. Added job code %J functionality (see FAQ). Duplicate files detected in more cases. Extensions now made lowercase during transfer. UI tweaks and performance improvements for better status (e.g. progress bar green while transferring & red on error, more frequent updating, better time estimation, etc). Improved error messages for SMART issues. Better memory usage - buffer memory freed after each transfer completes. Full functionality enabled through March 15, 2005. thanks, -jeff Jeff Blum Glass Lantern, LLC http://www.glasslantern.com Glass Lantern, LLC wrote: We have just posted a beta Windows XP version of our image transfer software (Pixfer) that has much more functionality than the Pocket PC version.
