Default OT - Congratulations to George Bush - 4 more years!

You are deluding yourself if you believe that 3%
more of the overall popular vote constitutes a mandate,
or spells the demise of the Democratic Party.

Good luck convincing the American people...

Excelsior, you fatheads!

Whether it is a "mandate" is debatable.

That it was an unbelievably devastating night for the Democratic party in
all aspecdts is indisputable. What is similarly clear is that the
Democratic Party has lost it's way.

Yes....They'd better change their ways and come up with some decent
candidates, instead of the long-hair freaks they have now, if they want to
win in 2008. but, I believe they will. The country has been more divided
than this before, and recovered nicely.....the same will be true again. The
Democratic party will recover, and be competitive again. After all, Bush
only won by 2 or 3 percent of the popular vote....That's hardly, "a
landslide".

And isn't that the killer? He squeaked by, and now says that "America has
spoken." Maybe in this term he'll actually hold press conferences that
aren't scripted by Karl Rove (aka Mr. Burns).

Bush is right. America has definitely spoken. Americans told Bush
that half of them supported him, and the other half did not.

I will be interested to see how Bush unites an extremely divided
nation behind an extreme neo-conservative agenda.

I believe most of Bush's plurality came from backlash against the stupid
Bush-bashing that has been going on. Much of this came from Europe. It
angered people so much that they voted for him just to spite the bashers. A
good example is the OBL tape. It got Bush many more votes than it lost. If
the liberals treated him with the normal respect that any statesman
deserves, he might have very well lost the election to Kerry.

And likewise, the disrespect shown the office of the presidency by the
Democrats fueled hatred for Bush more than any other political figures.
Those in other countries LOVE to be able to say, "Even their own SENATORS
call him a liar. so it must be true!"

--Totally counter-productive and HIGHLY damaging in the LONG TERM!!
Democrats talking in this way should have the sense to stop this kind of
display.
It is truly damaging to the country.
