he and his

Thanks David and Bob G for your replies. It sounds like the guy is for real,
although I am still amazed that he can sell this for literally half what
the Bender kit goes for, especially given that the Bender is pretty cheap
itself already.

Basically, I'm looking for a cheap first LF camera, and am trying to
decide amongst this, Bender, or an old Graphic View or cheap Calumet via
ebay. I'm intrigued by the super-low price of this Aletta camera-- maybe
I'll just go for it and be the guinea pig. :-)

Focus: A very overrated feature.

Actually I had major headaches with this guy Yvon Bourque from Aletta
Cameras. I'm not upset that he made a mistake with my order, but that
he would not make amends. I ordered a camera *kit* from him and he
sent me an e-mail saying it would take 2 weeks. That was perfect for
my photography class. After 4 weeks, I attempted to cancel my order
and he refused. PayPal would not help either. As it turns out, he
accidentally built the entire camera for me and it tooks EIGHT WEEKS
for delivery! By that time my photography course was over and I no
longer had access to a darkroom. He also didn't include a film holder
so even if I did have a darkroom, the camera is useless to me. I tried
to ask him to take the camera back but he will not answer my e-mails.

I'm just going to have to sell it on eBay when I get time, but with
work and school, I haven't had the chance yet.

Buyer beware!

One rather nice 4x5 that has plummeted in price is the Alpina. If you look
around you should be able to find one for about $150. The upside is that it
takes Sinar boards and backs. The downside is the funky unscheduled rail
design, and the fact that the tilts aren't axial.

He's got* the camera, doesn't want it, and can't get a refund.

Asshole, he's talking about *your* nonsensical post which suggests that the
guy buy yet *another* camera after being stuck with one he doesn't want or need.

How do you like them apples, pardner?

ooooooh. Gosh is my face red. Sorry, AArDvark! And sorry to the fellow who
bought the Aletta.

How do you like them apples, pardner?

Sometimes, especially if I've been up for a couple days, I'm such an idiot.

I swear you must have ADHD and dislexia at the
same time, no one could be that fricken rude for
being normally corrected. RE-read the OP's post
carefully, then give some thought on how you
should treat other people, as you would like to
be treated. And other ideas on the best ways to burn
bridges in this group and how not to use those
techniques, and DEFINITELY not to put them to
use.

I suggest you get some help so you can use your
conscience and stop being a worthless creep in
this group. You need medication.

Until then, take your stinky pile somewhere else,
even with your 'nothing-apology'. Get it?

So what is it with you, Pops? This happens all the ****ing time: you let loose
with frothing invective against someone, then contritely slink back out with
your tail between your legs. Are you manic-depressive by any chance? missing
out on your meds?

When I make a mistake, I admit it. People deserve apologies under those
circumstances. You call that a mental problem?
