Default OT (kind of) Digital Frames

I picked up my first digital frame the other day for my mom to take back
home when she was up visiting the grandkids, just a cheapo 7" unit with
480 X 234 resolution and displays at 16:9 or 4:3 format. My mom thinks
it's the coolest thing since sliced bread, and she just loves it. I
loaded a 512mb sd card with a bunch of old & new photo's on it and have
them changing every 3 minutes, which is the max for this frame.

The frame itself is ok for a cheap($110) unit (plays avis, mpg, mp3,
mp4's etc with sound), and the resolution looks ok as long as you are
not too close, but I want to pick up a better unit for her and the
in-laws as well. Looking online there are lots out there, but few
details about the features on them, for example I would like one that
you could set the interval to whatever you want, or at least longer than
3 minutes, better resolution etc..

Ultimately a wireless frame would be nice for the grandparents, then I
could just upload to them directly when I remote into their pc's and not
have to worry about them transferring new pic's to the units, but
wireless units are still a tad more than I want to spend.

So if anyone here has experience with various digital frames and their
good/bad points I'd like to hear it, or even a good site that compares
them. Any sites I have found so far for comparing features & prices are
mostly advertising sites rather than an objective comparison.

thanks in advance

My nephew bought one for his grandmother, but it has all sorts of functions
that she is never going to use! It doesn't have an obvious makers name; it's
8 inches and "PMP800". It switches itself off overnight, which is
good because it uses quite a lot of power (as does any large LCD screen).
But I found it jolly difficult to reset the clock. Turned out you have to
stop the photo-scrolling first. Nowhere does it say this.

????? Since when large LCD use lot of power ? My 19 inches LCD uses only 35
watts.

In this day-and-age that is a lot to be wasting! Do you leave it on 24
hours? With no power-save? In the winter of course it adds to the domestic
heating and in the UK hardly anyone uses aircon to shunt the excess heat
outside in the summer...

I admit I haven't measured the standby consumption which won't be zero
either.
