what is the softest, lowest contrast col negative film ?

anyone seen any online comparisons/reviews/examples

Of the films I've used, Portra 160 NC is the lowest contrast. Great for
portraits.

I think the Konica 160 portrait film or the Agfa XPS 160 is lowest but all
portrait films are rather low on contrast

Yes, according to Ctein's test published in the Jan/Feb 2001 issue
of Photo Techniques magazine, the lowest contrast films a

Agfa Portrait XPS 160
Kodak Portra 160NC and Fuji NPS 160 (tie)
(Portra had more midtone contrast, NPS more highlight contrast)
Fuji Reala 100
Agfa Optima II 200
Kodak Portra 160VC
Fuji NPC 160
Agfa Optima II 100

Original poster: what do you mean by soft? Edges (MTF) not sharp?
Going by datasheets it would be Agfa Portrait XPS 160.
