It has become a bit of Lomography's thing to bring back ancient lens designs to
modern cameras. First with two Petzval models and now with the Daguerreotype
Achromat lens, made to emulate the imperfections of the first real lens used
for the camera obscura.

I hate to say it, but if this is Daguerreotype Achromat, you are
paying hundreds of dollars for what is probably a 25mm achromatic
lens worth about $30.00 in a brass tube. Plus the diaphragms.


Lomography hasn't let me down this far when it comes to these lenses. Both
Petzvals are amazingly fun to shoot with
