Microtek ScanMaker i900 for 6x6 Scans
Does anyone have experience using this scanner for medium format film? CNET
raves about it, but I've had bad luck with flatbed/film scanner combos. They claim it will scan up to 8x10 transparencies. http://reviews.cnet.com/Microtek_Sca...2.html?tag=top Thanks, Jim |

Has anyone figured out why Microtek included ICE for prints but not for film
with this scanner?!?!. It has a nice feature set but you might want to check for other opinions by Googling the net. Doug --- Doug's "MF Film Holder" for batch scanning "strips" of 120/220 medium format film: http://home.earthlink.net/~dougfishe...mainintro.html |

The images from the Microtek were very fuzzy. As far as I can remember, there is a link to this comparison somehwere on the forums at www.photo-i.co.uk. -- Wilfred van der Vegte. You can find samples of the i900's amazing quality on Gary's website.
His website is: http://www.garynylander.com/ I also have one and the prints that come off it really are remarkable. It utilizes glassless scanning which is what is truly needed when scanning slides and negatives. My scans have not been fuzzy, and quite to the contrary have produced crisp and clear images. |
