Disassembly of the firmware update only allowed Vitaly to see how the
firmware update process sent instructions into the camera. Using that
method then he wrote a program to send an independently written blinker
utility into the camera to read out the firmware of his own camera through
an LED. The two models and programming of the cameras completely different.
The firmware update was for an Ixus, Vitaly owned an A610. The firmware
update program that was disassembled had nothing to do with the beginnings
of CHDK other than to show him how code got into the camera, nothing more.
Once he had his own camera's firmware, only then was he able to disassemble
that and write the very first RAW dump program. I still have a copy of that
original programming, because it's much faster than the full-blown CHDK
that came later. Handy to have if you only need RAW and speed.

Why do you insist on spewing misinformation and lies about CHDK? Is it just
that you're such a useless idiot and troll that you can't even comprehend
what you read 99% of the time?

As for the rest of your post, random headers from a forum ... it only looks
