Distance to take macro shot with C-3020 & E-300

How far should I place the camera from a subject, when I'm taking a macro shot. So far, with the E-300 from Olympus and the 14 - 45 lense, I get blurry pics in macro mode. Same thing with the C-3020, so I'm thinking that I have the camera too close to the object that I'm taking a picture of. I don't have the macro lense yet, too expensive. For the C3030 it's about 8 inches. I just put it in manual focus & run that down to the minimum & move the camera in & out to focus. |
