How clueless ARE P&S'rs?

Exactly. *If I was going to do surgery (for whatever reason) and I'm
not a surgeon, I'd make sure I studied a bit about it before cutting
in. *Sorry, winging it is for the lazy.

The risk of doing things wrong differ a lot between surgery and
photography.
People can spend they money on P&S cameras and take crappy pictures
and be happy about it.

It is something that I can set from f/1.8 to f/32.
Is it f/2.8 to f/8 on yours?

downloaded manual. You have yet to prove you even know what an aperture is
for or what it means.
