I couldn't agree more. For example, on the "Sports Illustrated" web
site, about 99% of the time, when I click on a link to an article, a
video will start playing, immediately.

However, I just "hit" the pause button and read the story; it's still a
bit annoying, though.

disable autoplay. problem solved.


EASIER said than done.


other way around. easier done than said. a couple of clicks. done.

Firefox was SUPPOSED to fix the problem in March, but didn't.

another option is via content blockers.

TOO many video formats to deal with.


formats aren't a factor.
