Nikon D80 Message - r06

Often when I'm composing a shot with my Nikon D80, I see a "(r06)" (no quotes) in the lower right of the viewfinder. I've been shooting exclusively in aperure-priority lately, so I'm not sure if it comes up in other shooting modes. I haven't been able to figure out what this indication means. Sometimes the shutter trips anyway -- sometimes it does not. Can someone help me out with this? Thanks! Estimated number of images remaining in the camera's internal memory buffer. The number will reduce as you shoot in continuous burst mode, and when the buffer is full, then the camera will slow down to the speed that it can write data to the card. The initial number will vary according to quality mode setting (size, raw or jpeg, jpeg quality etc). |

Thanks for the info and the quick reply! |
