Damn, screen is broken!

How this happened I don't know!

I have a Pentax Optio S4i, which has been an excellent little camera.
Then a week ago I was playing in the snow, taking some photos, and
then put it in my pocket, and made a snowman. All of a sudden the
screen has gone all white with a couple of black blotches at the
bottom.

This could have happened because it got wet (it was snowing, but I
don't think much snow landed on it), or possibly because I bumped it
somehow, or possibly it was just too cold. The outer case shows no
signs of damage though, so I don't think it was physical damage.
Either way, it still takes photos, but without the screen it is much
less useful.

Are there any tricks in trying to salvage such a camera?

When it warmed up did you see any signs of damage to the LCD ?
